During the migration, it is one of the best Kenya safari tours time. The savannas are covered with the hundreds of thousands of wildebeest. The beasts are constantly feeding and on the move together with the wildebeests. It usually is party time for the cats as the abundance of food is overwhelming. Carcasses are many in the reserve as the hyenas work to clean and help disintegrate the remains back to the environment.

The migration takes place in the month of June extending to September. It is important to note that the cats and other game do not migrate. They only move with the herds as part of their feeding. The none-migrating species remain the reserve but off course they move around in search of water and pastures in the drier months.
